Questions, answered

Every question about Bandhamster, in one place. Search, or browse by category.

Getting started

What is Bandhamster?

The whole home for live music, built in the open. Band websites and the musician board are live today; a gig guide, venue pages, band directory, gig alerts, bookings, studios, a booking marketplace, merch and ticketing are planned. See the full roadmap for what's real right now.

How do I get started?

Sign up, then choose what you're actually here for: build a band website, use the musician board, or just look around Backstage first. You can always do the other later from the same account.

Is it just a website?

No. The public site is one half. Behind it is Backstage, where the whole band manages gigs, booking enquiries and who's free to play.

Do I need any tech skills?

None. Pick a look, fill in your details and share the link. If you can use Instagram, you can do this.

Pricing

What does it cost?

Free while we build in public: every tool, on every account, no upgrade wall. The only thing that costs money today is registering your own domain, if you want one, priced close to registrar cost. Once the platform's finished, simple per-member pricing lands (under £5 a month per person, with part going to charity). See the full breakdown on Pricing.

What's the catch, if it's free?

Every Bandhamster site carries a small "Powered by Bandhamster" line in its footer, permanently. That's the trade, and it stays true even once member pricing arrives. Free right now is genuinely free, not a trial, it just won't stay free forever.

Band websites

How do booking enquiries work?

Your site has an enquiry form. A message lands in your Backstage inbox (and emails you), and you reply, set a status and track the booking from there.

How does member availability work?

Each member marks the dates they can play. When an enquiry comes in, you can see at a glance who's free for that date, so you answer with confidence.

Can I add other band members?

Yes. Invite them by email from the Members page; they get their own login to help manage the site, gigs and availability.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on any account. Search, buy and connect it without ever leaving Backstage, and you can always transfer it out: we never trap your domain. Priced close to registrar cost, a small margin, not a moneymaker.

Musician board

What's the musician board?

A free classified board for finding a band or a member: post an ad, search by instrument and location, no ads or clutter. No band website required to use it.

What's live vs. planned

What's actually live today, versus planned?

Band websites (site builder, enquiry inbox, gig diary, domains) and the musician board (post an ad, search, message) are real and live. Everything else on the roadmap is planned, not built. We don't dress up "planned" as "live."

Account & data

How do I delete my account and data?

From the account menu (top right of the dashboard), choose Delete account. It permanently removes your bands, sites, uploads and data. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data and your other rights.
